Week 12 - I Believe....

"I believe"....that was this week's prompt at Emily's mini art journal project...and here is what I did. I believe in the power of the smile, the sheer happiness it can bring someone who might not be having the best day, the way it can make you feel loved and just how beautiful a smiling face is.

I've used a Lil Davis Journaling stamp, some American Craft rub-ons, a Doodlebug paper frill and a Making Memories rub-on alphabet.

Hope you are having a fab week! Thanks for visiting :-)

An interesting idea...

I'm planning on doing an album, just of layouts about my hubby Rohan, and recently I've come up with this plan to do a layout about two of the things he collects - Star Wars & Transformers figurines. And for those who know Roh and his collection - they know just how crazy he is about it all :-). But I've not known a time when Roh hasn't collected toys, so to me, it's just the norm now. Just thought I'd share a few images that I found today, which may or may not end up on the layout.

Oh well, it's something different, at least...

Now I just have to scrap it!

Week 11 - My Initial - K

Well, here are my cards for this week's prompt - your initial. I put this together at Danielle's place..and got to play with some beautiful fabric and some more felt which was great. I must admit that I haven't always been happy with my name...after having gone to school with 3 other Kelly's I tried to spell it differently just to stand out - gotta love being a teenager - now that just seems funny (I tried spelling it "Kelleigh") and funnily enough it just didn't catch on - LOL.

Good News & Bad News

Well, I'll start with the bad news...it's really not that serious BUT Jude broke my glasses about 3 weeks ago, and I've just found out that they were a limited release, and they can't be fixed :-( so that makes me sad cos I LOVED my glasses and they were only about 6 months old. C'est la vie. Now I get to pick out a new pair! :-)

Some good news - today I won one of the cybercrop challenges over at Crafting In Style and with my prize voucher, I bought some Lil Davis Journalling Stamps - yay! They should be fun and useful. Also, Natalie from Scrap Therapy has asked me if she can use one of my layouts for an advertorial she is doing for one of the scrap magazines, which was really quite a flattering request. The layout in question does reflect very similar qualities to her website logo so it also makes sense.

Today I managed to get this layout done - it's for the 1,2,3 Challenge Blog for March. I had so much FUN using the Autumn Leaves Rhonna Farrer Swirls stamps - I fell in love with these when I saw them on one of Jane Fitchett's layouts and they were a must have. Funny thing is, I've had them since early January and this is the first time I've played with them - he he. But I'm still so happy that I got them.

Tomorrow should be a busy day. From about midday I have Sienna and Ash as well as my two, until about 8pm, while Danielle shoots a wedding. So I'm pretty much writing the day off. Oh, and tomorrow night is the launch of the 1,2,3 Blog's monthly Cybercrop - the great thing with this being that you get until the end of the month to get the challenges finished - yep - about 2 weeks to do the challenges - pretty cool hey! Oh, and I've donated one of the prizes this month - a Bam Pop pack - so definitely worth having a go! :-)

Have a great Friday!

Week 10 - Note to Self

Finally, I've done the current week to Emily's Mini Art Journal project. This week's prompt was "Note to Self", so I told myself to enjoy my life, my kids, my family, my creativity, and to be grateful for happiness, food, shelter and a passion for life. Sometimes, I think, we need to remind ourselves of all the good things, and not focus on the daily stresses of life. There are so many things in life to appreciate.

I decided to make a little red felt flower (yes - it is actually red but felt doesn't seem to scan too well) and I used some left over MME's patterned paper, which is one of my fav colour combos - red & aqua - just LOVE it!

Had work today, but was so glad to come home and do a little creating. Thanks for visiting :-)

A Day at the Farm

Yesterday, we had a family fun-filled day at Myuna Farm in Doveton, Vic. The kids had been invited there by our neighbours for a party, so as you can imagine, lots of sugar-filled treats and running around. We tried to be good parents, so we took water and juice for our kids, so they wouldn't ask for fizzy drink and we let them have treats but only after having eaten something substantial (in this case, party sausage rolls, nutella sandwiches LOL - not really ideally healthy but better than just chips and cake). But they had a ball. Lana and Jude both enjoyed their very first pony ride. Here are just a few photos.

Then today I finished my layout for one of the challenges over at Jolene's store - Crafting in Style. Loved playing with the new Bam Pop, and also loved recording these words that I'm sure Jude will love to hear about when he is older. For those of you who haven't met Jude - Bobots = Robots, Melmo = Elmo, "Rora" = Dora the Explorer, and then a few other words he can say are "Hat", "More", "Hair" and then most other things are still just the starting sound like "Aaa" for Ash, and so on. So cute though. Just love listening to his chatter.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend! Oh, by the way, Danielle has created a couple of absolutely fantastic Class Kits over at Kiti Q, so if kits are your thing - please go and check it out!

Slowly catching up

I've finished two more 'Deck of Me' cards today, so far..and it's only just after lunch. The first prompt was finish the statement "I am", so I did "I am busy..", and yes, I know everybody is busy but that is the one thing that kept coming to mind when I tried to finish that statement, so I went with it. Anyway, for those of you who know me, you'll know that this statement is definitely valid! LOL. Had fun using Bam Pop for this little card.

The next prompt was "What do you miss?", and I mostly miss friends and family who are interstate. So, I focussed on friends. The 3 girls, well, now women, have been in my life for years and years, and I miss them all dearly.

Ok, that's all I've got to share at the minute. Might update later, if I'm lucky enough to create some more :-) Happy Friday!

Another shoe project

This is actually, I think, week 6 of Emily Falconbridge's Deck of Me mini album project - and the prompt was "Shoes". So, because of my weekend photo shoot and in turn, layout, it made sense to have a go at this one. It's quite a simple design, and I love the red and white polka dots - so cute, so funky. I also love this quote - "If the shoe fits, buy it in every colour." - I wish LOL :-)

2 Layouts to Share

Well, it's been a very scrappy weekend. Danielle came over on Saturday, and we spent all afternoong cyber-cropping along with lots of lovely ladies at Scrap Therapy. They were really cool challenges, and these two layouts are what resulted.

I loved, LOVED, creating the layout about my shoes. The challenge was to use your favourite movie as inspiration, so I chose "In Her Shoes" which is a fantastic movie about sisters, love and relationships. And anyway, I took the title literally and photographed some of my shoes. Yes, only some of my shoes - this is about 1/3 of my shoes. I know, I know...it's an addiction. Although to be honest, I've really only bought maybe 3 pairs in the past 3 years. So they are mostly from that budget-free life of a single girl :-)

The second challenge was to use 4 photos, the colour green and to alter patterned paper somehow, so I altered mine by putting a scalloped edge to it. It turned out so colourful, and I got to play with ribbons, rub-ons, flowers and all sorts. Great fun!

Well, it's almost the start of another week. Got a day of housework tomorrow and then work again. The weekends been relatively relaxing though, so I'm almost ready for the onslaught of everyday again.

Have a great week! Hugs, Kell

In love with my two littlies

Yes, I am, of course. But today I put it down on paper. I've got this gorgeous photo of the two of them that Danielle took in December that I LOVE, and was itching to scrap. I already have the photo framed and on the wall (thanks Dan & Ben!) but now I wanted to have a play with it. I went with softer tones, which is a bit different for me, but it was what the photo was calling for. And I tried not to make it too girly for Jude's sake...well, I tried :-)

I also used this same photo for my Deck of Cards Mini Album - the prompt for this card was 'something that you are proud of' so I thought I'd say my kids - I'm proud that they are happy and pleasant kids. And can I say it again - I just LOVE that photo!

Not much planned for the weekend. There are a couple of cybercrops on this weekend, so I might visit with some of them, and maybe even get a challenge or two done. I really, really, really need to do some more work on the kitchen. And the new 1,2,3 Challenge has been launched for March, so I would love to get a start on that. I already have an idea...now I just have to find some photos.

Ok, I'm off to scrap some more :-) Take care.

Fun with Wild Thing

I did it - I got to scrap with my latest products at Kiti Q. I think this is a first in a long time - yay! Anyway, did this layout today using products from KI Memories Wild Thing range, which is just so funky. Just love the zebra print!

Anyway, it's another one of me and Roh. Just loving do our couple photos at the moment, gives me a break from the kiddie shots. The quote reads "Life began after I fell in love with you." by B. Hodge. I thought awwww, isn't that sweet...and so it went on :-)

Other than that, it's been a pretty normal day - kindy for Lana, food shopping, chiropractic appt, running errands. I did pop in for a coffee with my sis, Danielle, and she gave me some new photos to scrap of the kids and of her - just love her for that! Not only does she take heaps of photos of my kids...but she gets them printed for me too - how amazing and cool is that? :-) Anywho, lots of new photos to inspire me now.

Ok, off to feed the family. Oh the joys of being a mum and wife :-P LOL.

Week 5's Card - Ephemera

I managed to get another card done for my mini art journal - this prompt was to use some ephemera that you received in the last week. So for me, I used the 'With Compliments' slip I got for Up2Scrap, with my contributors copy of the magazine. I got it on Friday, so that was pretty cool - my first international magazine publication!

Anyway, I've got to get me and the kids ready for work/childcare. Hugs xx

Love, Love, Love

This was the prompt for Week 6 of Emily's Deck of Me Mini Art Journal project..and as you can see, I did it of me and my gorgeous hubby. I'm finding out that this mini project is a great way to use up those fun little scraps that we all keep - this is the SEI Twitterpated papers that I used for my layout "Groovy Kind of Love". And I'm so glad I got to use them again, cos they are soooo funky!

Today I had a day at home....yes, I was suppose to be at work but little Jude had a temperature and a really yucky nose, so I thought it best not to share it with Danielle and her family, so I took the day off. I actually think having a day off was a good thing for me, as I was getting a bit overwhelmed with everything I am committed to, so to have a day with nothing planned was fantastic.

Exciting news too - my mum and dad are heading over to Melbourne for a visit in just over two weeks - yay! We always love it when they visit, and vice versa, when we visit them. So that's something fab to look forward to.

Ok, I might scrap a little more now. Both kiddies are asleep so it's just so peaceful and perfect for creative time. Bye!

Update - News, Layouts & Everyday Stuff

Well, first of all, I've a couple of things to share. One is my 1,2,3 cybercrop challenge that I just finished this morning, entitled "Click". I so wanted to do this photo with the word "Smiwle" in it, cos that is Lana's thing when she has a camera - wondering around asking everyone to "smiwle" and it's just so cute :-) Definitely something I would want to be able to remember in years to come. The other little thing is my first attempt at the Deck of Me Mini Art Journal, inspired by Emily Falconbridge's blog. This card is in response to the prompt "A symbol you love", and who doesn't love the kiss symbol, as it represents so much. This was week 4's prompt, and I'm a bit behind but oh well. I'm sure I'll catch up. The blog is up to week 8 now, so I'm not too far behind, plus they are only little canvases. Such a gorgeous little project though :-)

Some exciting news for me too - over the last week I've had 3 layouts picked up by For Keeps - Feel the Sun, Sweet Miracle and Just Falling Asleep. I think they will be in Issue 55, but I'm not 100% sure, he he. Oh well.

On the home front, we had a huge skip delivered on Friday, which we shared with our neighbour, so all the rubbish, and extra bits of building materials, and just general junk was tossed, and the house is looking a lot better for it. I've still got to finish the kitchen, although I did head off to Spotlight yesterday and picked up a blind for one of the windows (I did manage a sneak through the scrapbooking section too...but I wasn't too naughty). Today I've got to finish off my hubby's BAS - yuck - I hate bookwork! But I did leave it to the last minute...silly me. The kids are at their grandparents so hopefully I'll be able to fly through it, without interruption.

And with that, I should probably go now..and actually do that. Have a fab week!

BAM POP and a Giveaway :-)

Well, it's officially here - BAM POP arrived yesterday and is now available through Kiti Q. Here's a peek at a couple of the papers & the diecuts. Aren't they funky?? And with characters such as Bambots, Popzilla and Fatbirds, it is sure to give you a giggle and some inspiration :-)

Well, just because I am so excited to be bringing this fab brand to Australia, as one of only two stockists in the country, I feel like giving away something with the next order put through on Kiti Q. So, for whomever puts an order through first on Kiti Q, after this is posted, I will include with your order, the latest 'Scrapbooking Memories' magazine - Vol. 8 No. 8 - valued at $9.95. Isn't that great? And not only will you get the freebie, but you will also get 15% off of your next order with our February promotion - so lots of incentive to have a shop :-)

Oh, and also new to the store is Basic Grey's 'Pheobe' range, and all of the Urban Lily Winter 07 ranges. I've been a busy girl uploading everything, so have a peek. You won't be disappointed!

Finally....I scrap

It feels like I haven't had a chance to scrap for ages...so last night I decided to sit down and create, and this is what I came up with. My inspiration was from Crafting In Style's ongoing challenge, and my challenge was to use lots of bling, vellum and no chipboard. At first the no chipboard thing felt a bit daunting..but A HA I have plastic alphabets and they were a lifesaver. I'm quite happy with how it turned out, and it will be perfect for my BOM.

Now, for other news...the garage sale was a success. We sold some stuff, as did Danielle and then whatever was left over went to a local op shop. Then Sunday Rohan and I rearranged our living space which is still looking like chaos but we'll get there. The kitchen is getting closer to being finished - yay! And this weekend we are going halves with our neighbours for a massive skip, so the outside should look a lot neater but that means another very busy weekend.

Jude has learnt the cutest word - 'mine' and he points to himself and says it over and over and over again..even when you repeat it back to him he just keeps on going. It's very cute. And Alannah had a sleep-over at Uncle Nath's and Aunty Reeze's which she always loves, and they always manage to tire her out so she's out like a light now.

Now I've got work tomorrow and then a couple of days at home, I hope. I'm such a home-body, and I'm just itching to just hang out at home and play with the kids. Anyway, this is just the mundane things of life.

Oh, and another exciting thing is that Kiti Q is going to the Melbourne Crop For Kids on Good Friday, which raises money for the Royal Childrens Hospital so if anybody is interested in going, please check out the blog in my sidebar. It would be fab to see you there!

Have a great night! :-)

New Stuff

Well, I feel like I've been spending up a storm this week, and having lots of fun doing it too :-). Firstly, the crazy cool Bam Pop papers, diecuts and stamps are on their way over from the USA, so they should arrive in the next 1-2 weeks. Then I just ordered the new Basic Grey range "Phoebe", and I've also got a Scrap FX bundle arriving today or Monday - lots of new dragonflies, doodads and some more butterflies. So lots of cool stuff is almost here for Kiti Q.

Not only that, but the whole Winter 2007 Release from Urban Lily Australia has been pre-ordered, and I am also expecting the arrival of My Mind's Eye Magnolia ranges within the next couple of weeks - just brilliant. So much new stuff to play with!! Yay!

Other than that, I've been flat out doing the renovation thing, as well as getting ready for tomorrow's garage sale. It's going to be such a hot day, so fortunately the sale is only going from 8am - 1pm, otherwise it would just be a shocker!

Anyway, I better get off of the computer and do some more sorting for tomorrow. Oh, and don't forget Charmane & Karlene's 1,2,3 Challenge Cybercrop is on, starting tonight. Might chat to you there :-)

Kitchen Sneak Peek

I feel like I've been hiding away a bit these last few days..and I suppose I have. Danielle and I got all motivated and decided to re-do/renovate/paint my kitchen to make it up to date and cheery. We spent all Friday sorting through stuff and preparing for paint, then Saturday painting. And now my hubby is completely into it as well, so Sunday was spent doing more painting, as was Monday... so what have I got to show for it you might ask... Well, I'm not yet ready to reveal the before and after photos, as the after photos can't be taken yet. We are close to finishing, but not quite there yet.. still need to get a new window furnishing and to finish a sink splashback, and to stain the timber benchtop. But here is a small part of the renovation...and the feature wall colour which I just LOVE. So fresh.

So anyway, I haven't had much of a chance to scrap due to all this and work. I've got an outstanding challenge at Jolene's website, Crafting in Style, that I need to get done this week, as well as the 1,2,3 February challenge. I've got lots of ideas..just no time to act on them..

Maybe next week...LOL
